3 day weekend! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
While it will be nice, I will have a newborn, so I wont really be able to do a whole lot besides sleep and try to keep some sort of sanity in my house with an attention seeking toddler, a wiped out post-birth wife, and a newborn who has no clue what’s going on!
But, there is a lot to do this Memorial Day weekend! And I have put together a list of “5 Things To Check Out This Memorial Day Weekend in Central Illinois!”
Sports, live music, wrestling, relaxing… pick your poison! And make sure to take a moment to remember the men and women who fight for this beautiful country.
1. Peoria Chiefs Baseball
Kick off your three day weekend (make it a 4-day weekend) by starting your party at Dozer Park for Thirsty Thursday with $2 drafts/sodas, as the Peoria Chiefs welcome the Kane County Cougars Tuesday – Thursday! Need tickets? Listen all this week to 105.7 The X to win them.
2. Autograph Or Tantric At The Twisted Spoke Saloon
For those 21+, the band Autograph is going to be at the Twisted Spoke Saloon in Pekin Friday night with special guests The Unhandsome Devils and Vintage Youth. And Saturday night, the TSS has Tantric featuring Death Division, Elisim, and Letters from the Dead. Tickets for both are $15 OR you can win them all this week when you rock with us at work!
3. Summercamp Music Festival
Scampers unite! This is the weekend many wait for every year!!! 3 days of live music, camping, partying, and celebrating life… That is what to expect if you make the trip to 3 Sisters Park in Chillicothe. Just don’t get busted with drugs BEFORE you get inside. For the full lineup that includes Moe, Umphrey’s Mcgee, Mudcrutch and more, click here!
4. WWE Live
This weekend, your favorite WWE Superstars are taking over the Peoria Civic Center and tickets are still available! Don’t miss Roman Reigns, Sheamus, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and MORE! Do some push-ups, grab your body oil, and get your tickets at the Toyota Box Office at the Peoria Civic Center for the WWE Live.
5. Riverboat Cruise On The Peoria River
Maybe you want something a little more low-key for the whole family! Then you should take a relaxing cruise on the Peoria river. Sightseeing Cruises will take place on the Spirit of Peoria all weekend and tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for senior citizens, $11 for kids 4-15 and free for ages 3 & under. They are are available at the dock or HERE. For more information or to reserve your seats via phone, call 309-637-8000.
Plenty to do this weekend! And obviously, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to goings-on this weekend in central Illinois.
Get the family out and have a blast this weekend. And, have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.
