So, 'Tool' is one of our all time favorite bands here at the X, and something tells me that they may be one of yours as well. This band has defied logic for years. They record albums at their own pace. They dictate to their record company when they want to do anything. They deflect promotions, marketing, and barely cater to radio. In the process, they have only released a handful of full albums and an EP, in twenty years of being a band.
One reason Tool is this way is becasue of the direction of lead singer and writer Maynard James Keenan. 'Maynard', as he is known, is involved in multiple projects, inclduing two other side bands and his manic interest in making wine and crafting his vineyards. This guy is creative, eccentric, and beats to his own drummer, which is why this band is so brilliant.
Rumors are circulating that the bans is indeed close to producing a new album. Maynard told 'Loudwire' that he's taking regular trips to the recording studio in Los Angeles, and is beginning to 'write vocal melodies soon.' Bottom line, getting this new album done would be nice in 2015, our 'Year Of Rock', and then, getting them back into Peoria would be a HUGE priority for us here at the X. Keep your fingers crossed……
