Next week the annual St. Jude Run will kick off Tuesday morning when the Memphis runners leave Peoria for their 35th run back! If you want to join in the sendoff just show up at the St. Jude Runs office, 4722 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria at 6:30AM. It’s a sight to see and you don’t want to miss it. Most of the other satellite runs will begin their run to the Peoria Civic Center on Saturday morning.
I’m taking part in the Chicago To Peoria run, I’ll be heading up there Thursday afternoon and we begin the run back at approximately 8:15AM on Friday, July 29th. Our due arrival time in Peoria is on Saturday roughly around 3:40pm (ish).
This year I set out the goal to raise $10,000 in honor of Reagan Kuehn a goal I met just a few weeks ago. However, I did the math and learned that I’m a little less than $4,000 away from hitting a grand total of $40K raised in the 5 years I’ve been doing the run, this year being my 5th. How cool would it be to hit that mark? I think it would be pretty darn BAD ASS but I can’t do it without your help. Yeah I know it’s a lofty goal to raise that much in just 10 days but I figure what the hell, I like a challenge.
Who wants to get me started? I don’t care what amount you donate, it could be $5 or $500 or somewhere in between.
-No family every pays at St. Jude, not for treatment, travel, food, lodging…they pay NOTHING!
-Since its inception St. Jude has pushed the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to over 80% today!
-St. Jude relies heavily on YOUR donations, even over cooperate donations, they need you!
Just think the cost of your morning coffee or energy drink, or the cost of a round of beers for your buddies could make a difference in someone’s life. That someone could be right here in Peoria or Central Illinois. I’m going to run my ass off in this stupid ass heat, all I ask is that you donate. Please?
