The super group ‘Prophets Of Rage’ told everyone that they would be in Cleveland for the Republican National Convention, and, well, they have kept their word. The band stormed into Cleveland Monday, and played impromptu live shows in front of thousands as they protested the convention, and all things Donald Trump. The band released their remake first single, ‘Prophets Of Rage’, yesterday to Rock radio, and to us here at the X, to coincide with these appearances. The band hit East 47th Street in Cleveland, for their first gig supporting their platform to ‘End Poverty Now”, they continued with an impromptu performance at Cleveland’s Public Square, which is mere feet from the entrance to the Quicken Loans Arena, where the convention is being held.
Today, the band has an actual concert with ticket sales already sold out, at Cleveland’s ‘Agora Ballroom.’ However, the band is likely to stage more impromptu shows as the convention continues all week. The band, led by Tom Morello and his Rage Against The Machine band mates, along with Chuck D of Public Enemy and members of Cypress Hill, have openly criticized the Republican platforms, and Donald Trump in particular. Stay tuned for more.
