So, this is certainly a first. I have never heard of a Rock Star perform a concert inside a volcano. Nope, not once. Well, leave it to Chino Moreno of the Deftones to knock down that wall of challenge. Chino is going to perform inside a dormant volcano in Iceland this weekend. It’s an acoustic solo show. Chino and twenty special fans who paid upwards of $2,000 each, will all travel 400 feet inside the earth, and the ‘Thrihnukagigur’ volcano. Kick ass, eh?
This volcano has been dormant for over 200 years, and last erupted about 4,000 years ago. So, he’s got that going for him. Chino is performing as part of the ‘Secret Solstice’ festival in Iceland, and his performance is apparently a regular deal with local musicians. However, this is the first time a rock star of his caliber has decided to cascade down 200 feet inside a magma chamber! Have fun with the Icelandic ladies, Chino!
