Kick off your summer by adopting a shelter cat!!! If you’re an animal lover and all about rescue pets, June is National Adopt-a-Cat Month and it’s a great time to save a cat or kitten.
June is when when kitten season is at a fever pitch and that’s one of the many reason’s PCAPS (Peoria County Animal Protection Services formerly knows at PAWS) is offering cat and kitten adoptions for FREE. Now through the end of the month the adoption fee is waived, each cat/kitten will go home at no charge and with initial vaccines, microchiped, spayed/neutered and 30 days of Pet health insurance.
They require that you either own your home or have permission from a landlord to adopt and that any current pets are vaccinated against rabies and registered in the county you live in. They also require a picture ID to fill out an application. PCAPS is located on NE Perry Avenue, two blocks north of Woodruff High School behind Glen Oak Park or call at (309) 672-2440 and adoption hours are Monday – Saturday from 12pm-5pm.
