Well, apparently Axl Rose is pretty sensitive over his photos that are out there for social media usage. This week, Axl has issued a take down request with Google over a 2010 image used to create a viral ‘Fat Axl’ meme. The photograph, taken by Boris Minkevich at the Winnipeg Free Press, shows Axl performing at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada with Guns N’ Roses. The photo has Axl hunched over and wearing a red bandana. Rolling Stone magazine and ‘Rollingstone.com’ published this story yesterday.
So, in essence this means that ‘Web Sheriff’ is now on the attack to remove the photo from usage on Google, and other services. The memes out there have been quite negative and insulting, and it’s obviously struck a nerve with Rose and his managers. “Copyright image of Axl Rose”, read multiple complaints issued by Web Sheriff on the singer’s behalf, according to ‘Torrentfreak’, yesterday. Axl and his managers have not yet commented. However, it’s pretty obvious why this is happening, and it’s pretty obvious that Axl is upset and trying to eliminate unflattering images out there. Well, we will see where this one goes, something tells me these negative memes are never going to go away, and now Axl is likely putting more fuel on the fire for the ‘haters’ and web meme smarty asses out there.
