Last Thursday we kicked off a brand new weekly feature pitting two brand new rock songs against each other, for many reasons, one being because we know how much you love new rock music but also because we want to know what you want to hear more of and well less of. The 105.7 Cage Match will air every Thursday right around 6:20pm and will feature two new rock singles played back to back. Then it’s your chance to vote and which new song you like best and want to hear more of. The winner will move on to the second round and face a new artist the following week.
This week we feature returning champion A Day To Remember with Paranoia VS. Asking Alexandria Here I Am
A Day To Remember just played a sold out show at the Limelight last week in fact the people of Peoria were lined up by 8AM the day of the show.
Ocala, Florida’s A Day To Remember have grown from a small band with a dedicated local fan-base into a worldwide phenomenon, gaining the respect and adoration from their peers as much as their fans. Over the course of the band’s career, they have sold out entire continental tours, landed two Top 25 Billboard debuts and topped the Billboard Indie Albums Charts. The band has sold over a million albums. The band’s most recent LPCommon Courtesy was released on the band’s own label, ADTR Records, in late 2013. ADTR will be joining Blink 182 on a huge summer tour with stops this September in Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Louis for more details visit their website atwww.ADTR.com Now, take a listen to our current champ. Paranoia.
Asking Alexandria’s new album “The Black” came out in early march and the change in vocalists didn’t impact the band’s chart power — The Black is their third Top 10 in a row for AA. From Death to Destiny bowed at number-five in 2013, and Reckless and Relentless landed at number-nine in 2011. This is the first album with singer Denis Shaforostov, who replaced Danny Worsnop earlier this year. Their latest single is Here I Am and its the competitor in this weeks Cage Match, take a listen.
