So, the ‘Prophets Of Rage’ is one bad ass super group of musicians, who are quite pissed off at the current political situation in America. Yep, that’s why they are a band. We are talking about a mash up of some amazing talent in one band, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine leads the pack with his Rage bandmates Brad Wilk, and Tim Commerford. Two of Tom’s favorite rappers, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, and Cypress Hill’s B-Real are in the shared vocal spots. The band announced their lineup and angst two weeks ago, and last night, they played their first show in Los Angeles.
Tom Morello describes what ‘Prophets Of Rage’ means. “We’re not a super group”, Morello tells Rolling Stone. “We’re an elite task force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election year bullshit, and confront it head-on with Marshall stacks blazing.” The band is featuring music from Rage, Cypress Hill, and Public Enemy.
