I am a big fan of the HBO series ‘Vinyl’. The show is a awesome snapshot of the music industry of the 1970’s, seen through the eyes of a record company owner, who is struggling, and trying to find his next big act. The band ‘Kaleo’ is featured on the soundtrack, and they could very well be the next big thing. These guys are Icelandic, and you could say that they are an ‘Indie’ act.
Kaleo got their start in 2012 in Iceland, and they have managed to work their way to the U.S., setting up residence in Austin, Texas. They have played ‘South By Southwest’, and turned heads with their performances last year. Esquire Magazine labeled them as one of the new bands to ‘watch’ for the future. Their song No Good” is the song featured on the ‘Vinyl’ soundtrack, and it has everything you want in a Rock song. Great guitar riffs, great vocals, with a great bass line, drums, and a catchy riff. The song could have easily been released in 1975, it sounds very ‘throwback.’ “No Good” is now being featured here on the X, crank it up loudly, and celebrate the future of Rock!
