Chicago Bears Legend Gale Sayers Passes Away At Age 77

Legendary Chicago Bears Hall Of Fame running back Gale Sayers has passed away at the age of 77. The Pro- Football Hall Of Fame announced today. Sayers had been battling dementia since 2013, his family announced in 2017. Sayers was nicknamed the “Kansas Comet”, and dazzled Bears fans and football fans around the world with his amazing talent and ability. He played from 1965-1971. His career was cut short due to ongoing knee injuries and issues. He was the Rookie of the Year in 1965, and had four Pro-Bowl seasons for the Bears. Indeed, a sad day for Chicago and football fans around the world. His incredible talent will live on in the hearts of Bears fans world wide. Sad day today indeed. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Flag will fly at half staff until he is laid to rest. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also expressed his sentiments today, “The NFL family today lost a true friend today with the passing of Gale Sayers.”
