Dave Grohl is our “Ambassador Of Rock”, well, at least that’s what I describe him as. Dave is in a class of his own when it comes to passion for being a Rock star. He loves his band, he loves all forms of Rock music. He has an incredible mind on the history of Rock music, he loves the Rock stars that influenced him as a kid growing up.  He’s made a documentary series on his love affair of American cities and their music history.  He writes and records music like no other. The Dude cranks out new albums constantly with his band mates. He’s one of the greatest drummers in Rock history. Oh’ yeah, he was in Nirvana. Did I mention that he is also down to earth, personal, and freaking hilarious??? The list goes on.

Well, this past week, Dave and the Foo Fighters celebrated the 25th Anniversary of their debut album. The self titled “Foo Fighters” album was released on July 4th, 1995. Can you believe it’s been that long? The album was completely all Dave. He wrote everything, played everything. The album did very well, with the songs “This Is A Call”, “I’ll Stick Around”,  and “Big Me” all hitting the charts, and also invading MTV with the first of many, hilarious and creative videos over the years. Dave told Apple Music this past weekend in an interview about the first album, “I just pulled myself off the couch and thought, ‘Okay, I’ve always loved playing music and I’ve always loved writing and recording songs for myself. So I feel like I need to do that just for myself.” Well…I for one, am very grateful that he got off that couch, and took the risk to make his own music. The rest is history. The Foo Fighters are readying a new album recorded late last year. In a tough year for everyone, it’s great to know that we have Dave, and his band. Thanks Dave, we appreciate you! Happy Anniversary!
