As many central Illinois families continue daily struggles and The Salvation Army in Peoria and Pekin are hosting a special Drive-Through Food Box Distribution to assist area families in need.  Being held in partnership with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the event will distribute 830 food boxes to families in need.

This is a drive-through event to ensure safety; please arrive in a vehicle. There are no eligibility requirements or restrictions on receiving a box. To get a box of food for your family, visit one of the participating Salvation Army locations as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (while supplies last)
  • Available in three locations:
    • The Salvation Army – Pekin Corps, located at 243 Derby Street, Pekin
    • The Salvation Army – Peoria Citadel, located at 2903 W Nebraska Avenue in Peoria across from Pierson Hills
    • The Salvation Army – Peoria Family Services, located at 417 NE Adams Street, Peoria. To pick up food in downtown Peoria, take NE Adams St to Spalding Ave and turn left.  Drive a half-block, then turn right at the end of the parking lot next to the Child Care Center.  You will follow that alley way to the end to receive your food box.
