I so called this!!!! In the weeks leading up to the Foo Fighters concert in Champaign I had been sharing videos of fans playing drums and guitar with the band and each time I would say “I want to see someone from Central Illinois get on stage and SING with the FF in Champaign.” and that’s exactly what happened last week at the State Farm Center.
The fan was Mike Carpenter and it all began when the band was noodling around with the intro to Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” and then Dave Grohl asked if anyone could sign the song. He picked out Mr. Carpenter saying “You look like you know a Rush song”…this is the outcome.
Also, I hate watching concerts (or any event for that matter) through my phone so don’t give me $*** for my crappy film job. I love that the Xer’s near me all turned to me and said “You called this one Anna!”
Lastly, yes I know I’m very late in posting it, cut me some slack…I’m a slacker.
