Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix received some unfortunate news this past weekend, as he was told he needed “immediate vocal chord surgery”, which will require recovery time, and cancelled tour dates along the way. The band has already cancelled dates in Oregon, Illinois, and Alaska. The band broke the news to their fans via social media with the following message: “It is with a heavy heart that we are forced to cancel our upcoming shows in Oregon, Illinois and Alaska this month due to the need for Jacoby Shaddix to have immediate vocal chord surgery and rest. This week, Jacoby was advised by his Doctors and Vocal specialists to have surgery on his vocal chord and to give his vocal muscles enough time to heal before Papa Roach resumes their touring schedule in September.”
Jacoby has had issues prior with his vocal chords, and with age and use, the muscle has shown signs of fatigue and damage at times. Hence the surgery. The band is hoping for an immediate recovery, however this may take more time than what is now prescribed as time off. We will keep you updated. Get well, Jacoby!
