At this point in time most people have already made up their mind who they are going to vote for on November 8th and if you’re one of them….why wait? Vote now, Vote early, get it out of the way. The last presidential election I was an early voter because I had planned a vacation on election day and was going to be out of state. This year, I haven’t quite made up my mind. On all of the local issues I know what my vote will be, as far as the presidential elections…well I know who I am NOT going to vote for but that’s about it.
I’ve herd people say that early votes are counted early and it’s all a scam, but according to the Peoria County Election Commission website (click HERE), votes cast early are NOT COUNTED until after the polls close on November 8. The president race isn’t the only thing you’re voting for, we have lots of local issues on our ballots and your vote is indeed needed and does count. It’s not just about the next schmuck that takes the oval office.
Here’s where the Peoria County Election Commission says you can early vote early:
-Downtown Peoria at the Election Commission Office, 542 SW Adams, near the Peoria Police headquarters, 8:30a-4:30p.
-ICC North Campus, 5407 N University, Peoria, early voting is between 10a-6p.
-Alpha Park Public Library, 3527 Airport Rd, Bartonville 10am-6pm
-Dunlap Public Library, 302 S First St, Dunlap 10am-6pm
For any questions or even to see what the ballot will look like you can find pretty much everything you need to know about voting at www.peoriaelections.org well except who to vote for, that one you need to figure out on your own.
