The Red Hot Chili Peppers have found a way to boost album sales. A couple weeks back, when their new tour was announced, the band made the decision to ‘bundle’ a copy of ‘The Getaway’ with tickets sold for their 2016-2017 tour. Yep, pretty brilliant. ‘The Getaway’ jumped up to number five on the Billboard 200 ‘Album Chart’, as they sold 33,000 units going into October 6th. Nice work, boys! The album was previously at #24 on the chart. As you may know, we are now cranking up their second single, “Go Robot” here on the X! A funky 1970’s feel to that song, love it!
In other ‘Peppers’ news, the band’s guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer, decided to do a version of Radiohead’s “Spectre” on stage in Bologna, Italy. Yes, a weird choice, but still pretty cool. Check out the video!
