Skillet recently made headlines when their last album, Awake, became one of just three rock albums to be certified platinum in 2012. The news that Skillet had sold more than a million albums in the U.S. came just as the band was putting the finishing touches on their eagerly awaited follow-up, Rise. Lead vocalist/bassist John Cooper says “I think music should be bringing people together and bringing them hope. That’s certainly what it does for me,” Rise is all about the message that is both spiritual and social, as Skillet reaches out anew to its ever-growing, ever-changing following.
Toronto-area rockers Thousand Foot Krutch are making their first visit to Peoria on this tour (and is the band I’m beyond excited to see). The group’s sixth studio album, The End Is Where We Begin, arrived in 2012. It was their first album released entirely independently. They are currently out supporting their latest effort Exhale.
We can’t wait to see you Saturday at the show!
