By the Numbers:
I ran roughly 30 miles
The Chicago To Peoria Run raised $307,583
Team Peoria Police brought in $30,099 and got 3rd Top Fundraising Team.
As an individual I raised a record amount of $12,030 and earned the Top Fundraiser Award.
The post St. Jude Run depression has set in…what do I say, what do I talk about, how do I even begin to thank everyone for their generosity? How do I put into words what it’s like to be a St. Jude runner and how to I explain everything we go through from Memphis to St. Louis, to Chicago, Lincoln, Chillicothe, Bartonville and all the other 30+ satellite runs. How do you put into words what it’s like when some 28,000 runners come together to support the mission of St. Jude that “No child should die in the dawn of life”?
I can’t.
I’ve been sitting here all day trying to find the right words to say for 2016, I’ve read everyone else’s posts on facebook and I have nothing creative, funny or sincere to say. Simply because there aren’t words to describe the pride I feel for the label of St. Jude runner. There are not words to describe the generosity of so many of YOU and strangers. There are not words to describe how it felt to see Reagan’s family on the route, the civic center or the love they have given me over the past 6 months. There are words to describe the best teammates and friends I could ever have. There isn’t anything in my lifetime that truly has left me for a loss of words like St. Jude does.
All I can say is thank you for your love, support and thank you for letting me be a St. Jude runner and I can only hope I make you as proud as you have made me.
Until 2017….
