Joe Perry, the iconic guitarist for Aerosmith, has been hospitalized in New York City after collapsing backstage performing with his super group, the ‘Hollywood Vampires.’ Joe sat down on the drum riser while performing the first song with the band last night in Brooklyn. He then got up and walked off stage, only to collapse. He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, and was then transferred to a different facility.
According to multiple sources today, Joe ‘may’ have suffered a heart attack. He was reported to be in ‘critical ‘ condition, and was sedated, conscious and talking. Joe was on an American tour with the ‘Hollywood Vampires’, that is set to run for many dates, including a date at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Joe, as you know, has been the main guitarist in Aerosmith since the early 1970’s, and the band has recently hinted that a ‘Farewell Tour’ may be in the works for 2017. However, continued tensions in the band, especially between Joe and vocalist Steven Tyler, continues to embroil the band consistently. We wish Joe a speedy recovery and all the best! FULL STORY
