This year when I began fundraising for the St. Jude Run I wanted to go big for one reason, her name is Reagan Wednesday Kuehn. I met Reagan, her mom Jessica and sister Adrianna, in Memphis in the summer of 2014. Around this time last year I had followed up with them to see how Reagan was doing and I learned the devastating news that St. Jude has exhausted all current options on her treatment. There was nothing else they could do for her at this time. Of course they were still there for the Kuehns, preparing them for the inevitable, keeping Reagan comfortable and as lively as you can keep a 6 year old. Last summer she was doing very well, despite the news. By the fall Reagan turn a turn and on November 7th she passed away. On November 7th I made vow that everything I do this year and every year from here on out, I would do for her, for two reasons. 1-this story will NEVER be okay with me, and it should never be okay with you and 2-so someday we never have to share a story like hers again.
In 2015, I somehow managed to raise $10,000 just a few hours short of the telethon, so this year it was my mission to do it again, but this time before the run and for Reagan. Every dollar, every mile, every facebook and twitter post and every on air break, is for her. When asked why $10,000 my response is why not? And now with 3 weeks to the run, I bet we can add onto this amount!
I ask you, will you please stand with me? I ask will you give up that $5 for your over priced coffee an donate it? Will you give up buying the guys a round of shots and instead give that $25 to St. Jude? It may not seem like much but so far those $5 and $25 has added up to TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS! I will run, what will you do?
