Well, Axl Rose has certainly made up ground on his reputation for not being focused or a reliable guy while on tour. He has gone from erratic to being the busiest and most consistent singer in Rock in 2016, fronting not only Guns N’ Roses, but AC/DC as well for their final shows. Last night, he was in great form, as Guns N’ Roses launched their American tour for their reunited ‘Not In This Lifetime’ trek. Rolling Stone magazine reviewed the show, and from all accounts, it was a barn burner!
Axl was simply amazing according to Rolling Stone, “With an expected start time between 9:45pm and 10:00pm, Guns N’ Roses took the stage at 9:43pm, making it clear that they were no longer playing games.” They added about Rose, “He let loose the snake like moves that defined the Guns N’ Roses look. He was spinning, hopping and darting from the back of the stage to the front of the catwalk that stretched into the crowd.” The show was at Ford Field, and the band tore through all of their core hits, and album cuts as well. Slash and Axl played off each other amazingly well, and Duff Mckagen provided vocals and plenty of swagger on bass. The band sounded tight, and they were laser focused on bringing the ‘noise’, as it were! Axl was also relatively healed from his broken ankle, as he stayed on his feet the entire show.
Great to hear this review, as the band is back, this time with no drama, no negativity, just great, kick ass Rock N’ Roll!
