According to ‘Rollingstone.com‘, the tease that Rage Against The Machine put out for a web site titled, ‘ProphetsOf Rage.com’ is not a Rage Against The Machine reunion. There have been posters popping up all over L.A. as well with the phrase, “Clear The Way for the Prophets Of Rage. The Party’s Over. Summer 2016.”
Many curious fans have taken these message and teases and thought, understandably, that the band would be reuniting and maybe making a new album soon. Well, it doesn’t look that way. Rolling Stone reported in the last 24 hours that a spokesperson for the band contacted them with the following information. “This is not a Rage-specific reunion”, said the source. “There’s a lot more to it.There are a lot of moving parts, a lot of exciting news to be revealed.” The source went on to say that “some of the members of Rage”, would be a part of this. There “wil be” live shows, but what we don’t know is, what members are performing, and what is this exactly?
My speculation is that Tom Morello, who is the most outspoken person in the band, will be staging protest concerts aimed at stopping Donald Trump, and and I can only imagine protest shows in the works at the Republican Convention. That’s my two cents, anyway, We will see! Prophets of RAGE, baby!
