Tim Commerford, bass player of Rage Against The Machine, and an outspoken critic at times, has decided to speak out against other forms of ‘Rap-Metal’, a genre’ of music that his band essentially started in the early 1990’s. Commerford has claimed responsibility for inspiring bands like Limp Bizkit, and had the following comments, “I do apologize for Limp Bizkit….I really do.” Wow! Hilarious.
Commerford continued, “I feel really bad that we inspired such bullsh#t…..they’re gone, though. That’s the beautiful thing. There’s only one left, and that’s Rage, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re the only one that matters.” Well, based on these comments, it’s obvious that Tim doesn’t realize that Bizkit is still a band, and still performs. He may well be addressing the Bizkit’s lack of fame and presence in 2015.
Fred Durst and Bizkit hasn’t commented back, but they certainly seem to dig ‘Rage.’ The band has covered ‘Rage’ multiple times on stage, and Durst has given the band credit for starting the ‘Rap-Metal’ movement. However, Fred’s attitude and sophomoric lyrical output has waned horribly, and compared to Rage’s political and serious content and overall high quality musicianship, there really is no comparison between the bands. It’s about time someone said it, and who better than an actual member of Rage??
