Would You Wear Your Team's Colors At A Rival Team's Home Game?

Hopefully by now you all know that I am a diehard Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan (I am very pleased with the Tigers right now).  A lot of people ask how this came to be, and to be honest I have no clue.  People are even more perplexed to find out that I am an Ohio native and grew up in the Chicago suburbs for a good portion of my life.  Many have asked why not the Browns, Bengals, or Bears?  I still give the same answer, I have no idea.

Throughout my whole life I have only seen two Lions home games and none for the Tigers as of yet.  I am always invading enemy territory to watch me teams play.  This is nothing new for me.  The only thing that is different is that now my teams are good on a regular basis, or for the Lions, the compete enough to piss people off.  In the 90's as a youngster, neither team was very good.  When I went to games then I think people just felt bad that I was a fan, so they left me alone.

Now that I am older, I notice more and more people want to say things to me for invading their home turf.  This only gets worse the more people get drunk.  The last Cubs and Sox games I attended to see the Tigers play, they might as well have been a home game for Detroit.  It was a great feeling to see Detroit fans take over the stadiums to support their team.  In these situations the trash talk was very low, as I had enough support around me and the Tigers won those games pretty convincingly.  The one thing I have yet to experience is going to Soldier Field decked out in Lions gear.

This has me a little on edge.  While Bears' fans will never compare to the days of the Dawg Pound in Cleveland, but they all are very proud of their team.  While not many stories come out about harassment issues, I have heard some very nasty stories about Bears' fans as far as interacting with rival teams.

While I have yet to go to a game, I did think about going to the Monday Night Game next week.  Which brings up the question, would you wear your team's colors at a rival’s home game?  I get the feeling that not many baseball fans care, but football is a completely different beast.

Let me know your thoughts.
