Seth McFarlane, the legendary smart ass, outrageous and fun writer, director and comedian,who is reponsible for the TV shows, 'Family Guy', American Dad!', and the 'Cleveland Show', has been named the new host of the Academy Awards in 2013. Yep, Seth is set to make the Oscars hip and fun, if that's at all possible. Seth has also been successful as the host of the Comedy Central Roasts, and has been a regular on TV talk shows. 

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences issued the following statement. "We are thrilled to have Seth McFarlane host the Oscars. His perfforming skills blend perfectly with our ideas for making the show entertaining and fresh. He will be the consummate host, and we are happy to be working with him." Wow, what an endorsement! Seth will certainly shake things up. We should hopefully see an appearance from 'Ted.' We should also see cutting edge comedy, smart ass one liners, and general lunacy. Kudos to the Academy.
