105.7 The X along with Kid Rock want to raise money for injured Central Illinois Veterans who have served in Iraq. The X is sponsoring two local veterans, and their families.

Staff Sergeant of the Marine Corps, Karl Newman is from Central Illinois, and served in Iraq in 2006. Karl sustained injuries twice from IEDS (Improvised Explosive Devices), the second batch causing him a traumatic brain injury. Karl rehabbed and is now home, and adjusting to civilian life.

We are also sponsoring Central Illinois Airman First Class Micah Weaver, formerly of the 182nd Airlift Wing of the Air Guard, who has also sustained a brain aneurysm.
