SO…this is exciting news, Peoria X Fans! Maynard James Keenan has confirmed via Twitter that he has completed the vocals for the new TOOL album, which will be the band’s fifth. As you know, it’s been more than a decade since the last Tool album was released. Who recalls the kick-ass, amazing Tool show here at the Peoria Civic Center a decade or so back? AMAZING.

Maynard Tweeted the following: “Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w . If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for & troll the band FBs with wine posts.” Maynard also confirmed that their would be a new Puscifer album in 2020.

Obviously, here at the X, we are beyond excited for this news. The big question will be if the band will have enough time to complete the mixing of the new material this year. Maynard is touring like mad with APC, and he seems to work at his own pace. However, the vocals are complete, as is the music. So, what remains is the final mixing of the album. Bottom line, whether it’s this year, or not, new TOOL will eventually be here, and you can bet your ass that we will be cranking it loudly here on 105-7-The-X!
