“It’s Stone Temple Pilots time again”, says Robert DeLeo, one of the three surviving members of Stone Temple Pilots. Robert, his Brother Dean, and Eric Kretz are the rhythm section and core members of STP. The band has been dealt some very difficult blows, as they have seen the deaths of not only Scott Weiland, their legendary mega-talented vocalist for the majority of their career, but also the loss of Chester Bennington, who was in the band for two years.

Last night, STP returned to the stage, as they invited music professionals, critics, and fans to witness the announcement of their new singer, and new music, live on stage. The band took to the legendary West Hollywood club, the ‘Troubadour’, where they announced that Jeff Gutt was their new vocalist. Jeff, a veteran singer who fronted two bands in his past, had a stint on the X Factor a few years back, where he wowed the fans and judges. Jeff is a Michigan native, and had been a late entry into the fold for auditions. The band had over 15,000 submissions for the job. Jeff auditioned, and wowed the guys, and he was offered the job. The band went into the studio and cranked out new material. The new single is being debuted today on the Morning X. Titled “Meadow”, the sound is classic STP, but it sounds fresh, and shows off Jeff’s range as well. STP are BAAACK! We are excited here at the X, and wish these guys the best. Let’s ROCK!
